6 Ways Save Money

1. Whenever you get money, put away a set amount into savings.
This holiday season, I got over $50 from my family, which left me with a little over $125. Like the huge shopper I am, I grabbed a random amount of money, and spent all of it, by the time I left the mall. When I got home, I realized I had less than $100 and decided to put away a set amount of money, every time I earn some. That way, I will have a savings account and will be able to save up money for something I really want, instead of spending it on something that looks good in packaging.

2. Make groups of money set for certain things.
Instead of just saving a bunch of money, and spending it on a plethora of things, put together some envelopes or jars full of money for certain items and spendings. For example, if there are some makeup products you really want and they're $60 total and a couple shirts that you want that are $70 total, and you earn $20 per week, you could put $10 into each envelope and buy some of the products when you get enough money.

3. Eat and drink before you leave to shop (especially if you're grocery shopping)
When you go to a mall or store, many times you will be around food, or near a grocery store. In places such as forever 21 or malls, they place food items and food stores in assorted places around the mall to catch your eye. If you are hungry, you will spend extra money on food instead of on the important things.
When you are grocery shopping and you are hungry, it will make you buy more foods that you wouldn't usually buy if you were not hungry.
You can also bring drinks with you to lower your hunger.

4. Get "in the know"
Make sure you know when the best sales are. Get apps such as shopular, groupon, and retailmenot and sign up for the monthly newsletter at your favorite stores.

5. Only buy items if you KNOW you will use them.
I can't even tell you how many times I have bought things and never used them. Make sure every item you buy is something that you absolutely need.

6. SALE ITEMS!
This to me is such a biggie. I don't know how to stress this enough. If you find something that you like, but it's more money than you would pay for it, wait until there's a sale or when you have a coupon. You can also sign up to get coupons and be notified of sale items by email and/or use apps such as Groupon

Picking Out The ***Perfect*** The Outfit

Every girl has that time of their life where they start to figure out their style. It took me 14 years so far and still counting. I pick out thousands of outfits on Pinterest but when they confront me in person, I turn them down.
This has been a problem for me, and makes it hard for me to show off my style and fashion ability.
I spend many hours dreaming up amazing outfits that I can strut into school with, but when I'm actually looking for clothes to wear (more like frantically searching for something inside of my closet), I find it really hard to pick out things that match the way I want them to.

1. Clean out your closet
Over time, clothing that you oddest wear gets stuffed in the back of your closet, unseen. Go through your clothes (at least once a year) and get rid of anything you don't want anymore. You can even give them to good will or sell them to a consignment shop!

2. Document your wardrobe
Using websites like Polyvore, Lookbook, or even a deck of flashcards to remind you of what clothing you own is a great idea! Having outfits set up to wear on certain occasions is great for days when you don't know what to wear. You just look for an outfit thats fits your day, put it on, and go.
Polyvore is a website where you can create collages of outfits. You can use clothing found online or clothing that you own. It can make you feel like a real fashion designer :)
Websites like Lookbook and Cloth are great for documenting outfits that you've worn and like, and showing them off to people. While Lookbook is a more Pinterest styled website, Cloth is closer to an Instagram layout. On Cloth, you can also assign outfits for certain weather!

3. Find your style……and stick to it!!!
Whenever I find a style I like, I always forget to buy clothing that revolves around it, and end up buying things that are in style instead. Make sure you know what your style is. If you don't have a set style, thats okay, too, but it is a lot easier when you know what you're looking for. Maybe try to find some clothes that you like and build around it.

4. Build your layers
A lot of times I will see someone wearing an outfit that seems like it could use something around it. Make sure you use your layers correctly and affectively. Bulky army jackets are really in with teens right now, and so are trench coats :)
Especially layer when it is cold out. Living in Florida, our winters can be kind of weird. it's usually super cold in the mornings and gets really warm at around 4-5 o'clock, which is (inconveniently) the same time I get home from school. On days like this, I like to wear a cute collared blouse, with a sweater, and maybe even a jacket. As the day gets warmer, I can take off my jacket and eventually take of my sweater, leaving me in a cute blouse to wear the rest of the day.
Which leads to my next tip…

5. Account for the weather
Don't wear something thick when its super hot out and don't wear something thin when its cold! Just, don't!

6. Matchy-Matchy isn't always a good thing
Although I absolutely love matching two-peices and color co-ordination, I also hate when outfits match too much. Unless your pieces came together or have matching patterns/colors, don't do it.

7. Don't be a fashion coward (for lack of a better way to say it)
Don't be afraid to wear clothing that may be a little out there. I love when I see people wearing outfits that are not the usual. It shows courage and brings the attention to you!

Overall, be yourself. Don't dress for others and make sure that you love yourself for who you are <3

Carter Reynolds Social Media Scandal

In the month of October, Carter Reynolds, 19, the popular vine star, had a NSFW video stolen and leaked from his YouNow account. In this video, he is with the social media star, Maggie Lindemann, 16, (who is quite obviously intoxicated) and is trying to get her to have sex with him.
In this video, she repetitively tells him that she "feels uncomfortable" and "don't think she can," and he just laughs at her.
After getting lost of publicity, Carter ranted on YouNow about Maggie's past sexual life, that was none of his business, or anyone else's. In this video he states that Lindemann "owes him respect" because he "made her", implying that her popularity came from him, and that he gave her it. Towards the end of the video, he receives a text from Maggie, informing him that the cops were on their way. He then receives a call, and muted his fans, and begins to cry. He ends the YouNow by saying he "heard something he didn't want to hear" and closes the video.
On July 19, Maggie Lindemann overdosed due to her pressure from Carter. Carter then tweets:
But later tweets:

He is then found tweeting to get pity, and even goes as far to say he wants to kill himself:

That night in a YouNow, his friend Taylor Caniff reports that he went to Carter's home and found his cooking dinner, unaffected and completely fine.

Many social media stars such as @lexi4prez and @orionnichole have been tweeting about how wrong Carter is. Many fans of Carter are also saying that what Carter did was a "mistake" but I would lie to say that when you make a mistake, you also have to pay for them or make up for them.
He is later caught trying to get his fans to send him nudes and threatening to unfollow them if they don't do what he says.

If you are a fan of Carter Reynolds, I have nothing against you, except I have everything against Carter Reynolds himself. A person should never feel like he/she has to do something for another person. NO ONE should feel bad for their choices in life and should definitely not be made fun of for it. People who are supporting Carter on this are in the wrong, as much as Carter is. Many of Reynolds' fans have even gone to say that he has done nothing wrong and that it is all Maggie's fault. If you are a fan of Carter Reynold's, that is okay. But it is time to move on.
